Purpose and scope
NIAT-5 electrodes are used in the aviation industry. NIAT-5 are designed for welding critical structures of high and high strength alloy steels in a thermally hardened state without subsequent heat treatment after welding, including 30CrMnSiA and 30CrMnSiNiA steels, as well as welding of low alloy and alloy steels with austenitic steels (dissimilar steels ) Welding in the lower, vertical and bounded ceiling positions of the seam by direct current of reverse polarity.
